The Lantern of Hope at the Chateau-Abbey Cassan, France

The Lantern of Hope on the roof of the church was kept burning at night to guide pilgrims toward the remote monastery in medieval times. It has 6 windows and 12 decorative ventilation openings topped by a chimney with 12 bays. The Chateau-Abbey Cassan was an important stop on pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain
