Afternoon Walk, Lytham St. Annes
The joined towns of Lytham and St Annes in Lancashire are attractive reminders of the English love of the seaside. The Pier, built in 1885 is known as an excellent example of Victorian ironwork. Much of the original was destroyed by several fires, but the remaining 660 feet has been recently reonvated. I was there on a warm sunny day in October, 2004, and I joined the people who preferred to walk along the golden sand beach instead of the promenade.
