Cassowary
A large flightless bird native to rainforests of New Guinea and Australia. Predominantly frugivorous, and a keystone species of the rainforest. Considered dangerous to humans. There are several theories regarding the function of the large casque. It may protect the bird when it runs into trees while running in the jungle, or when fighting other birds. Alternatively, the casque amplifies sound and may aid in communication between birds.
