Chariot Racing
Chariot racing is a modern sport that harks back to Roman times. Two horses are harnessed to a metal contraption on wheels. There is a sort of bench for the driver to sit on, but once the race gets exciting he will stand up. The racers line up and manoever their chariots around a pair of barrels before heading out into an open racetrack, where they complete one circuit. Both men and women compete in this event, unlike its cousin chuckwagon racing which, at the pro level, is exclusively a mens’ sport.
