Deer House, Dunham Massey Hall and Park
18th century Deer House, Dunham Massey Hall and Park, Altrincham, Cheshire. This two storey building was used for storage and feeding the large herd of deer that were kept on the estate. The portico surrounding the lower floor forms a continuous lean-to that allows the animals to enter and feed, while keeping the fodder dry. The upper storey was used as a hayloft. Built in about 1740, the building is considered a fine example of English Bond brickwork.
