Derbyshire Landscape

The track that leads to this quiet sheep farm in Derbyshire was once known as the “Silk Road”, because it was the main route for transporting silk from the mills in Macclesfield to the commercial centre of London. Today it looks down on a peaceful valley that glows in the late autumn sunlight. Nearby is the Cat and Fiddle Pub, a favourite resting place for walkers and for great numbers of motorbike enthusiasts who traverse the winding Peak District roads at great speeds, shattering the peace of summer weekends.
