Grey Seals (Halichoerus Gryphus)
Grey Seals (Halichoerus Gryphus), fighting over territory on the beach at Donna Nook, Lincolnshire, England. Each year in winter the large colony of grey seals comes ashore to squabble over territory, mate, and look after their pups. Some mothers with pups come quite close to the shore, but most of the action takes place on the beach near the surf, about a mile away. It is a cold, windy, wet, and miserable place for a photographer, but the seals seem to like it!
