Japanese White-eye on African Tulip Flower

The Japanese White-eye, or Mejiros (zosterope japonicus japonicus) are small songbirds. They are favoured cage birds, as they are easy to tame. They were introduced to Oahu in 1929 and now inhabit all the Hawaiian Islands.

The African Tulip Tree (spathodea campanulata) is popular throughout the tropics as a decorative shade tree because of their gorgeous flowers. The tree blooms year round.
