Katz Castle, Germany
The magnificent Katz Castle was built in 1371 by Count Wilhelm II of Katzenelnbogen, on a ledge overlooking the Rhine and the town of St Goarhausen, Germany. Bombarded and subsequently rebuilt in the 19th century, it is privately owned and not available for tourists to visit. Commonly known as Burg Katz, which translates to Cat Castle, it is inevitably linked with the nearby Burg Maus, Mouse Castle, although they are not related.
