Lake Wakapitu

New Zealand is a land of stunning scenery and friendly people. The jet boat was invented here, and on Lake Wakapitu you can try that and many other water sports. The Remarkables mountain range overlooks the lake, and near the south end is one of the many locations where the Lord of the Rings was filmed. Queenstown is the place to stay while exploring the area. It is also an excellent starting point for visits to Milford Sound.
