Mountain Goat (Oreamnos americanus )
The Rocky Mountain Goat (which is not technically a goat at all) lives in rocky, mountainous areas of North America above the timberline. They eat alpine grasses and flowers, shrubs and small trees. Females can be very aggressive, but mostly they spend their time peacefully grazing. Their thick double coat is shed in summer months, the males shed first. Since this fine specimen still had a full coat, it is a reasonable assumption that it was female.
