Prehistoric Dolmen
A prehistoric dolmen in the grounds of the Priory St Michel. Archaeologists are uncertain as to the uses of these monuments, although they have long been assumed to be burial chambers. It is possible that at one time they were covered with a mound, creating a barrow. The area where the Priory St Michel stands in the Languedoc has been an important sacred site since neolithic times.
