Singapore Flyer

The Singapore Flyer is a giant observation wheel, opened to the public in March, 2008. 28 capsules carry up to 28 passengers each, around a wheel 150 metres in diameter, taking 30 minutes to make a single rotation. On a clear day, passengers can see up to 45 kilometers away. The design is considered “avant-garde”, being experimental and innovative while emphasizing simplicity and harmony. Singapore Flyer uses a slim ladder truss rim – not the usual triangular rim used by other observation wheels.
