The Witch Tower
The witches tower at Reichsburg Castle is the only remaining part of the original fortress. It is called the Witch Tower, because in medieval times, it was used to deal with accusations of witchcraft. If a woman was accused, she was thrown from the window of the tower. If she lived, she was immediately executed for witchcraft. If she died (which of course most did), she was considered innocent and allowed Christian burial…Justice has improved somewhat in the past few hundred years!
