Whitby Harbour on a Foggy Day
The town of Whitby in North Yorkshire is a favourite spot for photographers, family seaside outings, and fish and chip afficionadoes. Fishing boats still ply the waters of the North Sea, tall ships visit frequently, and the ruined Abbey stands guard on the promontory high above the town. We visited on a foggy day in September, and I loved the way the mist veiled the signs of modern life, making everything mysterious and atmospheric.
